In celebration of HOT MOUTH's return to Control this week, we decided to catch up and get to know him a little bit better. Be sure to grab his latest track for free HERE, and don't miss his set tonight at Avalon- he goes on at 11:00am!

WL: You just teamed up with Nom De Strip to make "Wear The Trousers," which you guys are giving away for free. Can you tell us a little bit about the track?
HM: It was actually something we did over the internets together  towards the end of the year. The brain child on the song was I would say nom de strip... I more so added some hot sauce.

WL: If we looked at your "most played songs" on iTunes, what would we find?
HM: I listen to the drive sound track constantly

WL: Anything funny or unusual on your rider?
HM: I have a couple random things. My 2 favorite are the latest issue of national geographic and my iTunes gift card.

WL: We hear you used to rave. Care to share any stories with us?
HM: I was a raver. Guilty. No fuzzy pants. As fun as raving was then, I honestly dont miss it. :/

WL: Do you think that your break from Hot Mouth to join LA Riots for a few years played a part in how you've developed musically? Do you think it was essential for you to grow as a musician?
HM: Absolutely a big part of who I am today. Some times it takes being in the wrong situation to learn or make you appreciate the right situation. Musically LA Riots was not a musical fit for me. But was still a great experience.

WL: What artists (electronic or otherwise) would you want to collaborate with that you haven't yet?
HM: I'd love to work with feed me. He is a friend of mine so I'd never ask. But if he is reading this, ya I want to work with you.

WL: Any up and coming producers to look out for?
HM: I think lucky date is someone to watch over the next year. Very talented an lots of momentum. Cool duder too.

WL: If you had never discovered the wonderful world of dance music, and Hot Mouth never came to fruition, what would Jon Pegnato be doing?
HM: Surfing!!!

WL: You're currently running a contest to give away a Sole bicycle to whoever makes the best video for your new single with Chris James, "Totally Worth It." Seems like a rad collaboration, how did that come about? Are you a bicycle enthusiast yourself?
HM: Sole bikes have been really up for collabing with edm artists which is great for guys like me cuz I love bikes! As far as the contest goes my management and I thought it would be fun give a bike away and get some funny videos out of it. I'm really crossing my fingers for some sock puppets.

WL: What else is in store for Hot Mouth this year? Anything else you'd like to share with us?
HM: Working on some new cool sounds. Trying to focus on making some fresh music and getting my touring on! Holla!
