Control Fridays With Kid Sister, Autoerotique, Reid Speed, Revolvr & Devin Martin

It’s only the third week into January and we’ve already impressed you with our crazy good lineups at Control so far- we know. But before you make us blush, we want to give you the lowdown on what to expect this Friday ‘cuz it’s going to be killer.

Let’s begin with KID SISTER, a female rapper based out of Chicago. You probably first heard this badass chick when Rusko’s remix of her “Pro Nails” went viral in 2010. She’s collaborated with various EDM big-name artists like The Count & Sinden and Carte Blanche, and has also released a few albums of her own since her debut in 2007.

Canadian natives AUTOEROTIQUE signed with Dim Mak in 2009, and have steadily been gaining (well deserved) recognition since. They’ve remixed the likes of Etienne de Crecy, Joachim Gerraud, and Fischerspooner, and released some really fantastic originals of their own. A personal favorite? Well, if we must, their whole “Freak” EP is next level.

For our second female on the roster this week, we’ve got REID SPEED. She’s been on the scene for more than a decade now, and is known for incorporating all types of bass into her sets- everything from drum and bass to fidget house. Did we mention she also started her own record label? Yeah, Play Me Records is hers. Check out a rad interview and some footage of her last time at Avalon!

REVOLVR and DEVIN MARTIN will also be taking the stage this week. No one likes to wait in line,  so either RSVP for our discount list (21+ only) by sending full names to iparty@whiteliteproductions.net, or buy your pre-sales HERE.

Stanton Warriors, Bassjackers & Clockwork at Control

STANTON WARRIORS, who both began as studio engineers (no wonder their music is so good), have been around for over a decade now. It’s their unique bass-y breakbeat style of producing (see their take on “Good Vibrations”) as well as their variety of remixes- they’ve worked on everything from LCD Soundsystem to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons- that have kept them going strong throughout all these years.

Marlon Flohr & Ralph van Hilst first came together in 2007 to form BASSJACKERS, a heavy-hitting Dutch producing machine. They first got discovered by Fedde Le Grand with “Beat Cut,” and have since remixed big names such as Dada Life, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, and most recently, Far East Movement.

Add CLOCKWORK to the ever growing list of young producers to be on the lookout for. Henry Steinway, aka Clockwork, already has two EPs out and one on the way (“Squad Up,” to be released on Dim Mak), as well as a number of remixes and originals. This young fella has received support from some of the biggest names in EDM, including Tiesto and Laidback Luke. Come check him out this Friday at Control- RSVP (21+ only) by sending full names to iparty@whiteliteproductions.net, or purchase your presales HERE.

The Dopest Ghost in Town is Coming To Control

We’ve got Caspa, Dillon Francis, and Whiiite this Friday so you can prep for NYE with a night at Avalon…

CASPA, one of the most notorious dubstep producers in the world, is responsible for bass-y bangers like his remix of TC’s “Where’s My Money” and slower, more melodic dub like his original collaboration with Rusko, “Born To Do It.” Ask anyone who has seen him DJ before, and they’ll tell you that his sets are fun and full of energy.

Also associated with the dubstep scene, DILLON FRANCIS has several other genres under his producing belt as well. Partially responsible for the moombahton movement alongside Dave Nada, he’s released dancefloor hits such as “Que Que” with Diplo and Maluca (check out the music video if you haven’t yet), as well as his most recent, “IDGAFOS.” He’s become a big part of the dance music scene in the past few years, and we don’t see him stopping anytime soon.

WHIIITE (formerly known as Mr. White) will also be making his debut at Control… don’t sit out on this party! RSVP for our discount list by sending full names to iparty@whiteliteproductions.net by 6pm Friday (21 only).

Disco Fever at Control This Week

If you’re a fan of disco house, the lineup for Control this Friday is specifically tailored to your musical needs. Treasure Fingers, GTA, and Kids At The Bar will all be joining us to make this pre-holiday Control a little bit more special.

Straight out of Atlanta, TREASURE FINGERS, (also known as Ashley Jones) has made quite the impression since his release of “Cross The Dancefloor” back in 2008. Since then, he has pleased his fans with plenty of booty shaking originals, as well as remixes for the likes of Empire of the Sun, Classixx, Miike Snow, and NASA. What some may not know is that he is also part of the drum n bass trio Evol Intent. Check out this multi-talented-genre-jumping-musical-genius on Friday when he returns to Control.

Oaklahoma City duo KIDS AT THE BAR have remixed Ellie Goulding, Kill Hannah, and Toxic Avenger among others. They’ve also played at SXSW, Ultra, and booked a coast to coast tour in 2010. Come see what all the fuss is about by joining us at Avalon this Friday! Brazzabelle and Rifat Ziadeh will also have sets.

Purchase pre-sales HERE or RSVP for our discount list (21+ only) by sending full names to iparty@whiteliteproductions.net!

Mixmag Presents Spencer & Hill, Le Castle Vania & Dallas K at Control

We’ve got something super special for you this Friday- Mixmag, one of the world’s largest dance music magazines, has teamed up with us to throw a proper party at Control. Spencer & Hill, Le Castle Vania, and Dallas K will be on the decks to ensure we have great tunes pumping the whole night.

German duo SPENCER & HILL have released quite a few massive club tunes (think ‘Cool’ and ‘Right On Time’) since their debut back in 2005. Since then, they’ve worked their way up to the top with their notable remixes and collaborations. Just last October, they teamed up with EDM vocalist Nadia Ali for ‘Believe It.’ And we almost certainly believe they’ll be dropping that one at Avalon on Friday…

LE CASTLE VANIA, otherwise known as Dylan Eiland, broke out of the scene in Georgia and quickly gained notoriety for his energetic sets and electro sound. His passion for music comes out during his shows, and we’re glad to have him back at Avalon for another round this Friday.

Unless you’ve been under a rock the past few months, you’ve probably seen the name DALLAS K floating around. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Dallas has been making music since the tender age of 15 and DJing since 17. His first show in Los Angeles was at Avalon a few months ago, and we’re lucky enough to see him take the stage again at the end of this week. If you haven’t caught him yet, you’ll definitely want to make it out to watch this young producer work magic on the CDJs.

Control Friday: Daedalus, Nosaj Thing & Two Fresh

It’s may only be the beginning of the week, but that isn’t stopping us from getting excited about this weekend’s lineup at Control. Daedalus, Nosaj Thing & Two Fresh will be gracing us with their presence on Friday, and we highly suggest you be there to witness it.

DAEDALUS, otherwise known as Alfred Darlington, has perfected the art of ‘experimental’ music. Ok, so that sounds a bit cliche- but take a listen for yourself. His use of ethereal synths, creative samples, and changing rhythms makes listening to his music an experience in itself.

Darlington and NOSAJ THING have not only toured together (check out this video covering their Magical Properties Tour), but they’ve also remixed each other’s tunes. To top it all off, TWO FRESH will be joining the lineup.

Between all of these guys, their hardware, and their unique sound, the dancefloor is going to get pretty groovy on Friday. Buy your pre-sale tickets HERE, or RSVP for the discount list by sending full names to iparty@whiteliteproductions.net by 6pm Friday.

Skrillex Topping Off The Year With 5 Grammy Nominations

I think we can say without hesitation that SKRILLEX’s Grammy nominations came as a bit of a surprise for everyone. Not that he doesn’t deserve them – his humility, passion for music, and extensive work in the studio are just a few of the reasons why he should be in line for one of these trophies. But for the EDM world, this is really incredible. While dance music can no longer be considered underground as a whole, it still hasn’t been fully accepted by the mainstream as a key player in the music scene. So for a producer who began gaining recognition just a few short years ago to be nominated for multiple Grammys, we’d say that, well, the times they are a-changin.

While Skrillex is going head to head with fellow electronic music producers Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, & Deadmau5 for Best Dance Recording and Best Dance Album, he’s the first EDM producer to ever be nominated for Best New Artist. And that, in and of itself, is an accomplishment. Congratulations, Sonny!
